8-4-2020 Back in California & Lassen National Park
Left Medford, Oregon and headed South passing back into California (the only state we passed through with a Border Agricultural Inspection station). Arrived in Redding California with a temperature of 95 degrees, made us want to turn around and head the other direction. Passing Mt. Shasta and Lake Shasta, we couldn't get very good pictures because of the haze created by the various brush fires in Northern California and Southern Oregon.
A Lot of the Houseboats are in Storage
Staying in Redding, but hot in the valley around Redding, so we headed up the mountain to Lassen Volcanic National Park. One of the only places where you you can see four different kinds of Volcanoes in one area. Mt. Harkness is a Shield Volcano, Lassen Peak is a Plug Dome volcano, Brokeoff Mountain is a Composite Volcano, and there are cinder cone volcanoes. There are a few geothermal features, including boiling cauldrons, sulfur pots, gas vents, etc. Definitely an education.
There is a trail to the summit, my back said "No Way"

The hike down to the geothermal area is for the adventurous and fit, not us old people
