4/2/2024 Miltenberg, Germany

As we cruised through this section of the Main River  (Pronounced Mine river), one of the things that surprised us was that there are RV parks all along the river.

The Bridge ar Miltenberg, we passed under it and continued on to the town of Freudenberg, were we docked. We were then transported by bus back to Miltenberg for our tour.

There is a famous statue commemorating a major flood they had with three boys peeing in the river.

The 12th century Miltenberg Castle sits overlooking the city.

Due to the soil conditions and the years these buildings have been sitting here some, like this one tilt, they referred to this one as the tilted house.

The painter who lives and works here had a unique style of painting, women's bodies with Animal heads.

A religious town, there are many religious statues and and religious quotes on the outsides of the buildings.

Classic Bavarian Architecture, the town is a UNESCO world heritage site.

The sagging buildiing. The picture does not really do it justice, but this building sags in the middle

There is a fountain in the center of the Town Square from the time when there was no running water in homes and this is where they got their water.

On the edge of the town square sits a statue of  Joseph Martin Kraus, born here and created music similar to Mozart, (born tha same year as Mozart and lived a short life, and died at the same age as Mozart), but being from a small town like this was not recognized for his accomplishments, he moved to Sweeden and became the Chief musician to the royal court of Sweeden.

This statue was unique in that, not only was Mary stepping on the serpent, but the baby Jesus is stabbing the serpent with a spear.

This house most have been a rich person's home in that the oak tree carving in stone around the door would have cost a small fortune.

The beautiful building in the center of the picture is a brewery,

Various symbols were used to designate what type of business it was even is people could not read signs. A Butcher had crossed axes, baker with a bundle of wheat, and a brewer a 6 pointed star. This is not actually the Star of David indicating Jewish, but a symbol identifying that there are 6 stept in making beer.  During the reign of the Third Reich, the points of the stars were cut off or the star was removed.
