Located in the "Northern Neck" Region of Virginia lies Pope Creek Plantation, which was owned by George Washington's Father.  This is where George was born and spent the first three years of his life.  He later returned here in his teen years and lived with his Half brother (after his father's death). Three of the first five U.S> presidents were born in the "Northern Neck" region of Virginia. The main house Pope's Creek Plantation The Trees were gorgeous Back of the House Looking out onto Pope's Creek (biggest creek I have ever seen).  A sand bank and narrow passage separates Pope Creek from the Potomac River Lots of Flowers in the gardens The Kitchen Building They have a demonstration area in this building for spinning wool and other crafts, although this was originally done in one of the other out buildings. George Washington's Mount Vernon.  Owned earlier by his Half Brother, he leased the plantation from his brother's widow until her death when he inherited it outright.  The primary crop here was tobacco.
