5-22-2020 to 5-28-2020 Russian River

Moved out of San Benito and headed North to the Sonoma Valley. Thousand Trails Russian River Campground.  Because they have limited sites for big rigs like ours they had reserved a spot for us and we were lucky to get the best site in the park.  A short walk down the hill next to our site and you are at the river.  Of course, first things first and since we are in wine country I served Cecile a glass of 🍷 wine.






5-23-2020 Memorial Day Weekend, so lots more people in the park.  Fortunately the sites are still far enough apart so no problems with people being to close.







Took a stroll down to the Russian River, as it passes the park.  The dogs decided it was a good place to take a swim.  There were family groups together, but most of the people were practicing social distancing as they should.  This is an absolutely beautiful site to visit.  Our campsite is the closest one to the road down to the river.





5-24-2020 Wonderful Day for a Drive.  We took off this morning for a drive to the coast, through the Anderson Valley ending on the Mendocino Coast then south to Bodega Bay.

For the Alfred Hitchcock Fans, in the Town of Bodega (just inland from Bodega Bay) is the Church and Schoolhouse from "The Birds"




Our Last stop was a visit to the Wesselkampers in Sebastepol.  
We had a great time catching up.

5-25 & 5-26-2020  Nothing Much to report


Made a Walmart Run to Ukiah (24 miles North) and just hanging out 
enjoying the park and playing games. 

5-27-2020  Hot Day so Down to the River

Was in the High 90's today so we headed down to the river to cool down.  The hike across the rocks was terrible in beach shoes and the rocks were so hot that we had to pick up and carry the dogs.  Found a nice spot in the shade to cool off, but the currents were pretty strong right here so couldn't really do much swimming.


5-28-2020  Relaxing Day to Practice My Keto Culinary Skills

I decided to experiment today.  I had a beautiful Lamb Loin Roast, so I untied it and stuffed it.  powdered Rosemary, then a coat of cream cheese, topped with artichoke hearts and chopped mushrooms, a coating of pesto then retied with all the goodies inside and topped with more garlic.  Came out amazing, and I served it with Keto Foccacia bread and salad.  Perfect Keto Meal with less than 5 grams of carbs.

2023 Hawaii Trip

  17 Sept 2023 headed for Hawaii to visit our Grandson Joseph, who just reenlisted in the Navy. He has been there three years and has seen very little of the island.  At the airport at 5;00 am , flew from Knoxville to Atlanta for a nine hour non-stop flight from Atlanta to Honolulu.  Fortunately we got First Class tickets so flying in comfort. As soon as we were on board they delivered Mimosas   Real Food in First Class When we arrived at the rental car agency, they told us that the Toyota Rav 4 we reserved was not available so they gave us a free upgrade a BMW X3, not bad for an upgrade. Finally got to Joseph at his apartment.  Tomorrow will start the adventures. Hawaii Trip Day 1

Morocco 2023-2024 Day 1 (12/19/23) Casablanca

We arrived in Casablanca, after heading through customs etc. Zak was there to meet us along with his mother (a nice surprise).  Sami and his Grandmother headed back to Essaouira where she lives and the four of us (Zak, Sarah, Cecile and I) headed off to start exploring Casablanca. First Stop was to Check in at the Hyatt Regancy.   Cecile and Sarah thought we should take this car, a Maybach, but I think it would be alittle out of our price range. Shops along the Main thoroughfare below our room. Looking out over the city from our hotel room The Harbor The Hassan II Mosque from our Hotel Room. The Largest Mosque in Africa with a Minorette standing 210 Meters (682.5 Feet) tall. The Bears were happy to take a break from travelling. We had a late lunch Early Dinner at the Dar El Kaiu Restaurant. tucked away in the shopping medina, but like you were stepping into another world.  The architecture was incredible.  This was a Jewish Synagogue in the 1800's, what an incredible building. Autumn Colors in the Smokies

 Time for the color change in the Smokies, we took a morning drive through the Cade's Cove Scenic Loop in the Smoky Mountains National Park only about an hour and a half from the house. Saw four bears but with all the people trying to take pictures, we passed without getting any pictures.  We were however able to capture some of the beautiful colors.
