5-30 & 31-2020 Turtle Rock, Gold Beach Oregon

Image
Our first day was a rainy day in Oregon, so good day to stay in, relax,  play games and enjoy the  cool weather. We turned on the TV just in time  to see the launch of the  SpaceX Manned Dragon Vehicle.  Aerial picture of the RV park Turtlr Rock RV Resort from their check-in Brochure. Our second day was a great day to get out and see the area.  Took a drive through Gold Beach and stopped for a little shopping for some items we needed.  After getting back we took the dogs and went for a walk on the beach.  It is beautiful and clear but the wind here is a cold one.  Love the area and the beautiful beaches. 5-29-2020 On the Move Again

We headed out early this morning and headed up US 101 through the Redwoods and into Oregon. Winding road towing a car so took it easy.  Through the North end of California (Eureka to Crescent City) there was thick fog along the coast, but cleared after we got into Oregon.  Made it to our campsite at the Turtle Rock RV Resort in Gold Beach.  The Campground is right next to where Hunter Creek reaches the ocean so it is a short walk from the park onto the beach. Heading into the Redwoods Stop off to visit Bigfoot Foggy California Coast Off to Oregon

5-22-2020 to 5-28-2020 Russian River

Moved out of San Benito and headed North to the Sonoma Valley. Thousand Trails Russian River Campground.  Because they have limited sites for big rigs like ours they had reserved a spot for us and we were lucky to get the best site in the park.  A short walk down the hill next to our site and you are at the river.  Of course, first things first and since we are in wine country I served Cecile a glass of 🍷 wine. 5-23-2020 Memorial Day Weekend, so lots more people in the park.  Fortunately the sites are still far enough apart so no problems with people being to close. Took a stroll down to the Russian River, as it passes the park.  The dogs decided it was a good place to take a swim.  There were family groups together, but most of the people were practicing social distancing as they should.  This is an absolutely beautiful site to visit.  Our campsite is the closest one to the road down to the river. 5-24-2020 Wonder...

My first attempt at doing a Blog, so this will be a Learn as you Go. 5-15-2020 to 5-21-2020 Thousand Trails San Benito 5-15-2020 Left Home at 4:30 Am and headed for Thousand Trails San Benito. in Paicines, California (Just south of Hollister).  Following the recommended route on Google Maps and GPS in RV was not the best choice.  The route took us through about 60 miles of very winding roads.  Got in and set up camp and started practicing Social Distancing RV Style. We also had a visit from some of the locals. 5-16-2020   After arriving at San Benito, we saw that the hose that connects the air brakes on the RV to the braking system in the car has popped off and was dragged on the ground for some miles which destroyed the connector.  We had to go into Morgan Hill to Camping world to find a replacement connector.  When I gave the damaged end to the guy at Camping World, he went to the back room and came out with a whole new hose and said "It's on th...
