Colin and Cecile Travels

 This morning we headed back to the center of the Canyon (Visitor Center) at Mather Point. From there we visited various sites along the canyon to the far west end at Hermit's Rest.   Mather Point Switchbacks of the Bright Angel Trail that descends the canyon. 1 to  1 1/2 days to get to the bottom and 2 1/2 - 3 days to climb back out. Lunch at the El Tovar Hotel to celebrate Debbie's Birthday (next Monday)

  Started the day by heading over to the Indian Ruins at Wupatki, lunch at the Cameron Trading Post then in the Eastern entrance to the Grand Canyon. The Citadel Ruins Wupatki Primary Ruins Peekaboo Ruins at Lomanki Site Canyon from Desert View  Grandview Point Elk were grazing throughout the park. Road Trip 2021 Day 8

 Left the Campground in Kanab, Utah heading for our next stop in Williams, Arizona just South of the Grand Canyon.  On the route there we made a stop near the start of the Canyon, at Horseshoe Bend.  This is a bend in the Colorado River which is literally in the shape of a horseshoe. 3/4 mile Hike to the Viewpoint Looking across the Plateau to the river Horseshoe Bend Rock Structures For dinner we stopped at a great little Diner on Highway 66 called Cruising 66 Road Trip 2021 Day 7
