Eastern Tent Caterpillars

They are having the worst case of Tent Caterpillar infestation than they have had in 100 years according to the staff at the RV park.  We came out a couple of days ago and all the tires on the car and Motorhome were covered in Tent Caterpillars.  According to what I read online, the eggs were laid last year, but the caterpillars don't come out until the following spring. 3/28/2023 Staying close to the Campground today

Just a few miles from the campground on a back road was the Sheldon Church Ruins. There were headstones through the property with no sense of organization Tomotley Plantation, one of the few working plantations left in the South. Was not open when we were there The tree and Spanish Moss lined drive up to the Plantation House. Interesting Note:  Spanish Moss is neither Spanish or a Moss.  It is actually an "Air Plant" in the Bromeliad family.  It is not a parasite and does not hurt the trees it hangs on.
